The Religious Life Community encourages students to interact with and get to know other students in the campus community. Many weekly or monthly events are planned to allow for students to continue to build a strong sense of community among themselves and grow in their faith journeys. Some of the regular fellowship events include:
Food for the Soul
Local church congregations and other organizations bring a home-cooked meal to students each week at Food for the Soul. Time together generally opens with prayer and ends with discussion and fellowship.
Tuesdays, 5:30 PM, Dirlam Lounge
Campus groups and organizations provide a light snack following the Wednesday contemporary worship service. This time allows students to have casual [or in depth] conversation about the service, as well as get to know others who attend worship in the Religious Life Community.
Wednesdays, following worship, Dirlam Lounge
Fall and Spring Retreats
Every fall and spring semester, RLC plans a weekend retreat for students. These retreats are designed to provide relaxation and spiritual restoration. Retreats are a great balance of fellowship and devotional activities aimed at helping students take a deep breath and get away from the ‘hustle & bustle’ of school. Wesley Woods Camp and Wild Wood Hills Ranch are two examples of places the retreats have visited.
Alternative Friday Nights
Go swing dancing, watch a movie, or join in a game of sardines. RLC provides students with a night of fun and entertainment as an option for their weekend festivities. Scheduled events are planned and sent out via email…so be on the look out for activities.
